Teacher Storage/Organization Hack

Every year it is a battle to keep my storage closet nice and neat for myself and students to use. I love having classroom supplies for all students so everyone has the same opportunities to create something amazing. This is when I created my system with the bins and organizers for students and myself. Prior to this, I had everything shoved in a cabinet and tried to keep it organized as much as possible. Students would pull out items that weren’t supposed to be used for certain projects, things would go missing, and it just became a mess. To save everyone some sanity and cleaning time, I got two different bin colors and every year at the start of the school year when I give our classroom tour I show the students our supply cabinet. We always talk about how our blue bins are for students anytime and our gray bins are for special occasions or when the teacher says we are out of a supply. It is a simple and easy way to make students feel comfortable that they can get supplies without having to ask and that they feel a part of our classroom! Any other questions, ask away!
